Conosciuta in particolare per il suo ruolo di Norma Jennings nella serie tv degli anni ’90 ‘I segreti di Twin Peaks’, la Lipton ottenne tra l’altro nel 1970 un Golden globe come miglior attrice televisiva per la sua parte di Julie Barnes nella serie ‘Mod Squad – I ragazzi di Greer’.
